BC UNVEILS NEW BCEAGLES.COM, FACEBOOK PAGE, AND IPHONE APP

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College Athletic Department is excited to share three new technology elements with its fans. Today, we will be launching the new bceagles.com, two new fan interactive tabs to our Facebook page, and the official BC Eagles iPhone application.
BCEagles.com
The Boston College Athletics Department and CBS Interactive, one of the premier website designing and hosting companies for college athletic departments, will unveil the newest version of BCEagles.com today. The newly enhanced site provides a more user friendly experience, simplifies navigation and adds several new and updated features.
On BCEagles.com, fans can easily find up-to-date information on each of our 31 varsity sports - including live stats, video and free audio streaming, game recaps, and "around the web" stories from local newspapers, such as the Boston Globe. The new site also features live online auctions, an improved video player, and a live schedule of events on the homepage, and constant updates and giveaways via social media (Facebook and Twitter). Finally, fans will find a newly-designed ticket homepage that will serve as a "one stop shop" for all your ticketing needs.

Facebook
As Facebook has become more and more prevalent in day-to-day life, the Boston College Athletics Department has partnered with Paciolan and Buddy Media to provide two new tabs on its Facebook page. These tabs have been designed to make Facebook even more interactive. Fans can see a calendar of events, upcoming promotions, picture galleries with picture-rating capabilities, videos, and fan pictures right in these two tabs. Fans can also now purchase tickets from the Facebook page. Fans are encouraged to "Like" our page and to check out these two new tabs and send us your pictures. Fans that do so by April 30 will be entered to win a 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV. Click here to check out our Facebook page.
iPhone Application
The Boston College Athletics Department has partnered with row27 Studios, the company who assisted with producing our TV commercials the past three years, to create the first Official BC Eagles iPhone App. The app combines some of the features of our website with live game stats, tweets, and fan interaction into one spot on your iPhone. Fans can follow the Eagles on the road with live stats now supported for men's and women's basketball, football, and baseball. In addition, fans can follow all sports with news stories, tweets, photo galleries, videos, and schedules on their iPhone-supported device.
This new addition to BC Athletics' line-up of technologies will be a great tool for BC fans. Future updates will allow for more sports with live updates, interactive games, stadium maps, and audio and video streaming. We are also looking forward to future releases of iPad and Android versions of the app. Click here to get the iPhone application.
