Boston College Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo has announced that Steve Novak has been promoted to the position of Assistant Athletics Director/Development. He replaces Jim Paquette, who recently was named Director of Athletics at Loyola University in Maryland.
"Steve is a very impressive young man and has done a tremendous job in our Athletics Development office," DeFilippo said. "We were extremely fortunate to have the right person for this position already within our department."
"I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to continue to serve Boston College and advance its mission in support of its student-athletes," Novak said.
Novak came to Boston College in 2001 as an intern and was named Development Assistant later that year. He later served as Assistant and Associate Director of Development.
A native of North Plainfield, N.J., Novak is a 2000 graduate of Drew University and received an MS in sport management from UMass-Amherst in 2001. He resides in Quincy with his wife, Justine.
