Boston College Assistant Athletics Director for Operations Matt Conway has been named the recipient of the 2009-10 Skip Prosser Distinguished Service Award by the Atlantic Coast Conference Basketball Officials Association.
"We're very proud of Matt for receiving this award," Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo said. "Matt plays an integral role in the operation of many of BC's home events, including men's basketball. To be recognized by the league's officials speaks to his dedication, organization and attention to detail."
The league's officiating association presents the award each year to someone who has helped the cause of officiating in the ACC. All ACC men's basketball officials were asked to vote on their DSA recipient choice. The award is named after the late Wake Forest basketball coach, Skip Prosser.
In his role at BC, Conway helps facilitate the officials' arrival and departure from BC as well as their locker room accommodations and serves as a liaison between the officials and all game operations personnel.
Conway was promoted to Assistant AD for Operations in January of 2007. He joined BC as part of the Flynn Recreation Complex staff in September of 2004. Conway is originally from Wilkes Barre, Pa. He resides in Sharon with wife Meghan and sons Owen and Liam.
