The Boston College men's golf team will compete at the 56th annual ACC Championship this weekend, held April 17-19 at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, N.C.
The three-day competition begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, with 11 ACC schools split into four groups. Boston College will be paired with Virginia, and will play 18 holes a day on the par-72, 7,100 yard course. Of the 11 schools, four are ranked within the top-25 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarian Rankings.
"The men's team is very talented and has been working hard on the mental side of the game," said BC head coach Trevor Drum. "Hopefully that will show at the ACC's. We have to play smart golf to be successful because we are competing against some of the best college players in the country."
This season the Eagles recorded a second place finish at the Treasure Coast Men's Classic and had an individual scoring average of 76.67 per round. Robert DeMaio led the team individually with a 75.39 scoring average.
Last year, Florida State won the team championship and Webb Simpson of Wake Forest took the individual title. BC placed tenth overall and was led by senior captain Bob Reed, who tied for 36th individually.
