College Park, Md. - The Boston College men's swimming and diving team is preparing for the start of the 2009 ACC Championships tonight at the Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium in College Park, Md.
Led by senior captains Robert Swaninger and Thomas Chandler, the Eagles (13-4) are looking to improve on their school-best 10th place finish at the event last year.
"Robert has been a great leader," said BC head coach Tom Groden. "He's been improving every year and was part of the 200 medley relay record team earlier in the year. Andrew had an injury at the end of last year and now he's back swimming. I'm thrilled for him. He's a great kid and I'm happy he's able to be here."
The meet begins at 6 p.m. this evening with the 200 yard medley relay and the 800 yard freestyle relay finals.
"It's been a tremendous year with these kids," Groden said. "We're coming out here for a great time and we're hoping to get some tremendous swimming."
Coverage on ACC Select will begin on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.
