Athletes Bring Holiday Cheer to Local Hospital

Boston, MA - Members of the Boston College Student Athlete Advisory Committee traveled to Children's Hospital Boston for their annual visit on Monday afternoon to meet with patients and their families as part of as part of the SAAC outreach program.
Representatives for the ACC Atlantic Division Champion football team, women's ice hockey, women's lacrosse, cheerleading, field hockey and men's golf and baseball team members along with Baldwin the BC mascot participated in a meet and great and autograph session with patients in the cardiac, infant cardiac and intermediate care wards.
"It is always a wonderful experience at the Boston Children's Hospital. Yesterday was a great success because we had a people from many different sports and a good balance of male and female athletes," said senior field hockey forward Bob Dirks, Vice President of SAAC. "The smiles on the faces of the children are priceless."
"My experience at the Children's Hospital,was one of the most humbling experience and it really gave me the opportunity to see what being a BC athlete really means," said women's ice hockey junior defenseman Tracy Johnson.
The BC division of SAAC will continue their upcoming events including Cookie Decorating with the women's lacrosse team at Franciscan Hospital on Friday December 5 and the SAAC service trip to participate in Habitat for Humanity in Fairfield, Conn on January 8.
