Thank-A-Thon Reaches Record Numbers

At a time when many Boston College students were gearing up for midterms, 62 student-athletes took some time away from their studies to thank Flynn Fund donors during the annual Fall Thank-A-Thon this past Sunday.
In coordination with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Flynn Fund, the student-athletes gathered in the media suite of Conte Forum from 6-8 pm to thank donors for their support of the athletic department. Over the course of the two hour event, representatives from seven teams reached out to over 1,250 donors who have made gifts to the Flynn Fund since the Spring Thank-A-Thon in April 2008.
Student-athletes were busier than ever working the phone lines, as they well surpassed the 1,000 donor mark reached in the spring.
The Flynn Fund supports scholarships and operating costs for Boston College's 31 varsity sports. Last year, alumni, parents, and friends contributed more than $21 million to BC Athletics. To learn more about the Flynn Fund, please call 617-552-0772 or log onto www.bceagles.com.
