Men's Golf Competes At NCAA Regionals

Alpharetta, GA - The Boston College men's golf team finished 26th out of 27 teams competing in the NCAA East Regionals at the Golf Club of Georgia over the weekend. The Eagles finished with a three-day score of 947 (+83) in the event won by the University of Georgia (855, -9).
The Eagles were led by junior Bob Reed, who has played well for Boston College all season. Reed finished the weekend with a three-day total of 234 (+18), which tied him for 105th in the tournament. Reed's first-day 74 (+2) was the best round shot by an Eagle golfer this weekend.
Junior Alex Snickenberger came in two strokes behind Reed (236, +20), tied for 115th. Junior James Granello (238, +22, 124th place), freshman Jan Prokop (243, +27, T-131st place), and senior Kyle Kelly (246, +30, 134th place) rounded out the Eagles goup of competitors.
Five ACC teams - Georgia Tech, Florida State, Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest - advanced to the NCAA Championship to be played May 30-June 2, 2007 at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, Gold Course in Williamsburg, Va. Last year Wake Forest tied for third while Clemson tied for seventh and Duke placed 12th.
