Men's Swimming And Diving Concludes Season At ACC Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Men's swimming and diving finished a successful season this weekend at the ACC Championships held at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
The Eagles finished 11th at the league meet but got some strong individual performances along the way. Freshman Tim Jordan would place 39th overall in the 200 yard IM with a time off 01:56.34 as well as 27th overall in the 200 yard breaststroke, just ahead of teammate David Lin, who finished 28th.
Fellow freshman Michael Hogan would place 31st in the 1650 freestyle, just ahead of teammate Joe Maloy, with a time of 16:41.79. Hogan would also place 39th overall in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 04:48.19.
Senior captain Andy Faughnan concluded a successful career, finishing 32nd overall in the 50 yard free with a time of 00:21.19. Faughnan would also place 30th overall in the 100 free, just slightly ahead of classmate Matt Northrup, who finished 36th.
Senior Chris Wilson-Byrne would place 26th overall in the one meter diving event with a score of 203.70, and would just miss placing in the top-30 in the three meter. Fellow senior Thomas Martz would place first in the 100 yard butterfly time trial and 34th overall in the 100 yard butterfly.
Also swimming well for the Eagles were sophomores Robert Swanninger and Tommy Chandler, and senior Michael Cartwright, all of whom placed in the top-30 in their respective events. The men concluded yet another successful season, finishing the year at 9-5.
