Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats URI

Kingston, R.I. - The foursome of Liz Byron, Caroline Byron, Holly Boucher and Torey Thelin won the 200 medley and 200 free relays, propelling the Eagles to a 169-128 victory over URI in Kingston.
The Byron sisters also gave the Eagles first-place points in two individual events, with Caroline taking the 200 free and Liz winning the 100 butterfly. Torey Thelin also gave the Eagles an individual win in the 200 butterfly.
The Eagles also recieved help in the breaststroke events from Nikoll Julien, who took a closely contested 100, and Carolyn Bowman, who recorded a win in the 200 with a time of 2:29.49.
Mari Wunschel also finished strong in the 200 individual medley to earn another win for the Eagles.
On the diving board, Jennifer Rhines earned the top score of the meet on the 1 meter board, while Maeve Brennan took the 3 meter event.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday in Chestnut Hill against Holy Cross at 6 p.m.
