Men's Swimming and Diving Tops Maine

Orono, Maine - The Boston College men's swimming and diving team earned wins in seven freestyle events, carrying them to a convincing 228-102 victory over Maine in Orono.
Andrew Faughnan led the way for the Eagles, finishing first in the 200 indivdual medley and contributing to the winning quartets in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays. Matt Northrup swam the anchor leg of the 200 medley and 400 free, while also aiding the victory in the 200 free.
The Eagles dominated the sprint events, as Northrup collected a win in the 50 free, and 100 free with times of 22.35 and 48.43 respectively. Daniel Kollar took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.05.
In the free distance events, Billy Scwhitter won the 500 free, while Joseph Maloy captured the 1650 free.
The Eagles were solid in every event also garnering wins from Michael Cartwright in the 200 backstroke and captain Kurt Zwald in the 200 butterfly.
On the diving board, Christopher Wilson-Byrne was sharp, earning victories in both the one and three meter diving events.
The Eagles return to action next Saturday, February 4 at Rhode Island.
