Amherst, Mass. - Andrew Faughnan took two individual events and was part of a winning 400 freestyle quartet, but it was not enough to overcome UMass, as the Eagles fell to the Minutemen 181-119 in Chestnut Hill.
Faughnan was sharp in the freestyle events, winning the 100 in 49.25 and the 200 in 1:47.38. He also ran the opening leg of the 400 fresstyle relay team that included Jeffrey Benson, Daniel Kollar and Matt Northrup.
The Eagles won two distance events as Joseph Maloy took the 1000 freestyle in 10:13.08 and Billy Schwitter captured the 500 free with a time of 4:56.75.
The Eagles return to action this Tuesday at Boston University at 7 p.m.
