Jerome Rodgers Named Associate AD/Compliance

Jerome Rodgers, Assistant Commissioner for Compliance at the Big East Conference since 1999, has been named Associate Athletic Director/Compliance at Boston College, Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo announced today.
"Jerome is one of the bright young talents in intercollegiate athletics," DeFilippo says. "He possesses a thorough knowledge of the areas of compliance and student-athlete eligibility and is an excellent leader. We look forward to having Jerome join our staff."
"I am excited about the opportunity to join the team of professionals at Boston College," Rodgers says. "I'm looking forward to getting back to the campus environment with the opportunity to work with young people once again."
In his position with the Big East, Rodgers has overseen the day-to-day operations of the conference's compliance services, including rules interpretations and institutional compliance reviews. He processed secondary violations and various waivers and served as staff liaison to the Faculty Athletics Representatives Committee and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He created the Big East Compliance Coordinators Policy Manual and served as coordinator of the Big East Annual Rules Seminar.
Rodgers, who was nominated to the McDonald's All-America Basketball Team, received a full basketball scholarship and earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.A. in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee Technological University. Prior to his tenure with the Big East, Rodgers served as Director of Compliance and Student Services for Athletics at Eastern Illinois University from 1994 to 1999. While at Eastern Illinois, he served as a member of the NCAA's Academic Eligibility and Compliance Cabinet. He also served as Administration and Finance Intern for the NCAA from 1993 to 1994.
