Men's Track Finishes Fourth At Wildcat Invitational

DURHAM, N.H. - Senior Keith Normant (Needham, Mass.) placed second in the triple jump, third in the 400-meter hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles to pace Boston College's men's track and field team to a fourth-place finish at the UNH Wildcat Invitational, Saturday, at Mooradian Field.
New Hampshire won the meet accumulating 190 total points while Maine finished second (173) and Connecticut third (127).
Sophomore David Lucia (Lowell, Mass.) earned 12 points with fifth-place finishes in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus events.
Freshman Tom Wehr (South Windsor, Conn.) placed second in the 100-meter dash clocking 11.20, while junior Geoff Atkins (Avon, Conn.) finished second in 400-meter sprint competition. His time of 49.95 was just under two seconds faster than fourth-place finisher Chris Caulfield (Caldwell, N.J.), who crossed the line at 51.46.
Freshman Stephen Walsh (Jamestown, R.I.) earned a fourth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with his time of 4:05.60, while Drew Bouchard (San Diego, Calif) and Mark Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) finished second and third, respectively, in the 5,000-meter run. John Kennedy (Litchfield, N.H.) placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase clocking 10:06.87.
Louis Canelli (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) cleared 6'05.00" to earn second place in the high jump event.
Boston College will participate in two meets this weekend. The Eagles will send split squads to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., Friday, April 16 through Saturday, April 17, and to the Northeastern University Invitational on Saturday in Boston.
