Lynn Holleran, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Women's Administrator at Boston College, has resigned her position, according to Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo. Holleran leaves to assume a new role as Associate to the Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President at the University of Minnesota.
"This is a very bittersweet announcement for us," DeFilippo says. "We're happy and excited for Lynn as she takes on this new challenge. At the same time, she will be sorely missed at Boston College. Lynn is one of the most talented professionals with whom I have worked in my entire career. She has done an outstanding job as our Senior Women's Administrator, and she built our Compliance Department into one of the most respected in all of college athletics. She has earned respect from student-athletes, coaches and administrators throughout the entire BC community."
Holleran recently entered her 11th year in the BC Athletic Department. She worked with all 31 varsity programs, monitoring compliance with NCAA and BIG EAST rules and regulations. While at BC, she instituted several new systems designed to improve and simplify the oversight of NCAA compliance. In addition, she directly administered the sports of field hockey, women's lacrosse, men's and women's cross country/track and field, men's and women's tennis, volleyball, softball and women's rowing. She also assisted with the women's basketball program and served as the Athletic Department's on-campus liaison with the offices of Student Services, Housing and Admissions.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Beloit (Wis.) College, Holleran came to BC from Northwestern University, where she earned a Master of Management degree in marketing and organizational behavior from the university's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
