Swimmers Close Out Season at ECAC Championship Meet

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Boston College swimming and diving team closed out its 2002-03 campaign by participating in the ECAC Open Swimming and Diving meet in Pittsburgh, Pa., February 27-March 1. The women's squad finished second, with 366 overall points, finishing just behind champion University of New Hampshire, which accumulated 389 points throughout the event. The BC men finished 12th overall, with 135 points.
Katie McCann was awarded Swimmer of the Meet honors. The sophomore took first place in both the 200 and 400 yard individual medley races, with times of 2:03.84 and 4:23.68, respectively. She was also a member of the third-place 400-yard medley relay squad with teammates Lauren Keibler, Liz Byron and Nina Suryoutomo.
The Byron, Suryoutomo duo was joined by Holly Boucher and Caitlin Healey for first place finishes in the 200 and 400 yard freestyle relay events. The foursome turned in a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as well.
Katelyn Cox earned fourth place overall for her performance in the one meter diving competition.
On the men's side, Tim Tully turned in BC's best performance, touching for third in the 400 yard individual medley. Brandon Twichell also earned third place points in the 200 yard breaststroke.
