BOSTON - Entercom Radio and Boston College announced today that a new five-year broadcast rights agreement has been reached for SportsRadio 850 WEEI to air Eagle football and men's basketball games. The new agreement begins with the 2002 football season as 2001-2002 marks the final year of the current contract.
WEEI has held the Boston College broadcast rights for the past eight years, dating back to 1994. During that time, BC has advanced to five football bowl games, including two on New Year's Day, and the men's basketball team has played in the NCAA tournament four times with a trip to the Elite Eight in 1994.
