Women's Tennis Qualifies for BIG EAST Championship

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College women's tennis team has qualified for the BIG EAST Championship on Friday-Sunday, April 20-22 in Coral Gables, Fla.
The top six teams in the BIG EAST qualified for the championship tournament. Play will be in a single elimination format with the top two teams receiving a bye into the second round. All matches will be held at the at the Neil Schiff Tennis Complex in Coral Gables, Fla.
The women's tennis team has a record of 11-6 in dual matches, 5-1 in BIG EAST play and are currently ranked No. 64 in the WingspanBank.com National Collegiate tennis rankings for the week of April 11. Nigel Bentley's squad is seeded third and will take on sixth seed West Virginia Friday, April 20, at noon. Earlier this season, the Eagles defeated West Virginia 5-2. The winner will face second seed Miami on Saturday, April 21, at noon and the loser will face the loser of the #4 Virginia Tech and #5 Syracuse on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
