Women's Rowing Has Strong Showing In Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.Y.-The Boston College women's rowing team participated in the Princeton Chase annual regatta on October 28 in Princeton, N.Y. The meet brought in crew teams from all across the country, including clubs and university teams. The Eagles had two boats competing in the women's open eight event and two participating in the women's open four race. The best BC finish came from boat one in the open eight, who finished 11th overall.
Rowing a time of 15:34:12, the women's varsity eight took 11th place in the open eight event, beating out Cornell, Georgetown and Rutgers. Princeton took 1st place, followed by Yale and Radcliffe.
The second varsity eight, also participating in the open eight event, came in 29th position with a time of 16:22:94.
The varsity four boat B, competing in the open four event, took home 14th place with a time of 17:32:70. Boat A finished in 15th position with a time of 17:36:04.
On Saturday October 27, the Eagles competed in the Head of the Shuylkill regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. BC had a strong showing in the open eight event, with boat 1 taking 4th place.
With a time of 14:40:95, the varsity eight took 4th position, ahead of Ithaca College, and Tennessee. The University of Pennsylvania won the event, with Syracuse taking 2nd place.
The club eight boat, participating in the women's club eight event, had a strong race, finishing in 9th position with a time of 15:51:26. Tennessee took first place, followed by Syracuse.
The Boston College women's rowing team will return to action on Sunday, November 11, when they compete at the Foot of the Charles Regatta.
