Women's Rowing Participates in Textile River Regatta

LOWELL, Mass.-The Boston College women's rowing team participated in the annual Textile River Regatta on Sunday, September 30 on the Merrimac River in Lowell, Mass. The Eagles finished 13th out of 74 teams in total points. The event included university teams as well as national club teams. BC's best performance came from Boat 1, competing in the women's open eights event, which came in third place out of 18 teams.
Rowing a 19:51, the first varsity eight crew took third place, only 12 seconds behind the first place team, Northeastern University.
The second varsity eight crew, also participating in the women's open eight, finished in 14th position with a time of 21:27.
Competing in the club eight event, the third eight crew finished in 31st place out of 38 teams with a time of 22:54.
Winning the regatta with 766.17 points was Community Rowing Incorporated. The top university was the University of Massachusetts-Amherst team with a third place finish.
The Boston College women's rowing team will return to action on Sunday, October 7, when they compete at the Head of the Connecticut in Middletown, CT.
