Philadelphia, PA - Members of the Boston College women's tennis team participated in the 2001 Intercollegiate Tenins Association's Omni Hotels Eastern Regional Championship held at Levy Pavilion at University of Pennsylvania Oct. 26-30.
In singles play, Boston College was represented by Nida Waseem in the regional draw and Allison Ashley and Ashley Backus in the qualifying draw. In doubles play, the tandems of Ashley Backus and Emily Hellberg (qualifying draw) as well as the team of Nida Waseem and Allison Ashley (main draw) represented BC. The top eight finishers in qualifying play were automatically entered in the main draw.
Seventeen Omni Hotels Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women are taking place across the country to determine qualifying positions for the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships November 8-11 at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.
