Men's Swimming & Diving Upended By Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Despite falling to BIG EAST rival Seton Hall University in its first meet of the 2001-02 season, the Boston College men's swimming and diving had several strong individual performances on Friday, October 19, at the Arthur E. Impertore Natatorium.
Freshmen Brandon Twitchell and Michael Dellamano both turned in two second-place finishes against the Pirates. Twitchell took home runner-up honors in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events, finishing with times of 1:01.22 and 2:13.18, respectively. Dellamano placed second in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events. He finished the 100 with a time of 56.03, while he turned in a time of 2:02.44 in the 200.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dellamano, freshman Justin Welch, sophomore Gordon Glover and junior Matthew Baker earned the only first-place finish for the Eagles. The four turned in a time of 3:20.04, which was 65 one-hundredths of second faster than Seton Hall's top team.
The men's swimming and diving team is back in action at 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, against Rider University at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
