Swimming and Diving teams soar in classroom.

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - - In the spring of 2000, Boston College swimming and diving teams registered the best semester grade point averages in the history of the program.

The men's team, which finished at 6-3, turned in a 3.248 GPA, bettering the previous high of 3.205 set in the spring of 1999. Twenty-two student athletes (73%) made 3.0 or higher. Twelve of those 22 men surpassed 3.398.

The ECAC champion women's team with a 7-3 mark was led by thirty-five female student athletes, who combined for a 3.393 GPA. That mark bettered the previous team best of 3.363, set last spring. Twenty-nine students gained a 3.0 or better while 20 students surpassed 3.40.
