Eagles Travel South for Duke Invitational

Selected members of the men's track team traveled to Durham, N.C. this past weekend to compete at the annual Duke Invitational hosted by Duke.
The best Eagle performance came from the distance medley relay team, consisting of seniors Marshal Armitage and Pete Vaglio, and juniors Dan Fitzgerald and Justin Burdon. The group ran a 9:50, which placed them in fifth place in a field of 28 teams.
Junior Jeff Normant and senior co-captain Erik DeMarco both ran in the 400-meter hurdles race. Normant raced to an 18th-place finish in 55.29 while DeMarco followed closely behind in 21st (56.15).
Fitzgerald also competed in the 800-meter developmental race, running to a 35th-place finish in 1:55.
In the 1,500-meter race, Burdon finished in 22nd-place, while he ran a 3:52. Armitage ran in 30th-place with a 3:55.
Two Eagle runners competed in the 400-meter developmental race, Vaglio ran a 49.96 and sophomore Bennett Valencia ran a 50.22.
Colin Wolfe competed in the 5000 meters and ran to a 54th-place finish with his 15:06.
The men's track team will next compete at Dartmouth on April 15, while selected members of the team will travel to Walnut, Calif. for the annual Mt. Sac relays on April 14-15.
