Men's Swimming and Diving Lose Opening Meet

Lawrenceville, N.Y.-The Boston College's men's swimming and diving team dropped their first meet of the season to Rider University 74 to 162 on Friday, October 27, 2000, in Lawrenceville, N.Y.
The Eagles took only three-first place finishes and five-second place finishes in the meet. Senior captain Mike Wilt won the 1-meter diving but took second and the 3-meter, both out of three divers. In the 100 freestyle, sophomore Matt Baker won with a time of 49.56 but took second in the 50 freestyle with 22.56.
To begin the meet, Boston College took second, third and fourth place in the 400 medley relay. In second place in the 200 backstroke was senior Jonathan Hartigan, with 2:10.52. Finishing the night, the Eagles took second, third and fourth again in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, October 28, when they travel to Stony Brook N.Y. to take on SUNY Stony Brook. The meet is schedule to begin at 1 p.m.
