FORT PIERCE, FL -- The womens swimming team captured its second win of the season with a 154-140 win over Indian River Community College. Indian River has been the National Junior College Champion for over a decade and they pushed the Eagles to the limit.
Head coach Tom Groden named Brianne Sullivan (Staten Island, NY) the meets outstanding performer. She finished third in the 100 yard backstroke (59.56), second in the 200 yard backstroke (2:10.85) and was the lead swimmer in the 800 yard relay which finished third.
Groden tabbed freshman Erin Lanzafame (Onieda, NY) with the top performance for her effort in the 500 yard freestyle, which she won with a time of 5:12.38. The difference in the meet proved to be the Eagles diving. Led by sophomore Shannon Lents (Boca Raton, FL) , Boston College captured all 16 of the diving points by sweeping the top four spots.
The Eagles left Florida and headed back north, where they face the Connecticut Huskies on Nov. 10
