CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- The Boston College womens swimming team captured its first win of the season by defeating Navy 165-135 on Oct. 24. It was the first time the Eagles have faced the Midshipmen in the pool. Boston College won 10 of the meets 16 events, including both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Senior Rachel Enos (Ispwich, MA) had the top individual performance for the Eagles by catpuring first place in the 50-yard freestyle. Three freshman, Brianne Sullivan (Staten Island, NY), Alexis Kostopoulos (Marblehead, MA), and Lauren Schwartz (Mt. Laurel, NJ) won their first collegiate race by swimming three-fourths of the 200-yard medley relay. Enos anchored the race, which the Eagles won with a time of 1:52.12 Kostopoulos was named the Eagles outstanding performer by head coach Tom Groden. She captured two individual victories in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke and also captured two first places in the two relays. The Eagles next travel down to Florida, where they take on BIG EAST foe Miami on October 31.
