Women's Swimming Knocks off Northeastern

CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- The Boston College womens swimming team captured its 11th victory of the season with a convincing 188-112 win over Northeastern. The Eagles won 11 of the 17 events as they improved their overall record to 11-3 this season.
Boston College head coach Tom Groden named sophomore Kristen Gray (West Boylston, MA) the teams Outstanding Performer after she captured first place in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. Gray was one of two Eagles to capture multiple wins. The other was freshman Kara Glynn (Brandford, CT) who won both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:42.70) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.78).
Groden gave freshman Alexis Kostopoulous (Marblehead, MA) the teams Outstanding Performance for her effort in the 400-yard Individual Medley, which she won with a time of 4:38.35.
The Eagles finish their regular season with a meet against Providence College on February 13. They then go on to the BIG EAST competition the weekend of February 24-27.
