Women's Swimming Knocks off New Hampshire

DURHAM, NH -- The Boston College womens swimming team ended its first semester in grand fashion with a convincing 183-115 win over the University of New Hampshire. The Eagles improved their overall record to 5-2.
Boston College captured first place in 12 of the meets 16 events, including wins in both relays (400 yard medley relay and the 200 yard freestyle relay). Boston College head coach Tom Groden named seniors Sara Guerena (Santa Barbara, CA) and Rachel Enos (Ispwich, MA) the co-Outstanding Performers of the meet. Guerena won the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.40), the 500 yard freestyle (5:08.50), and the 1000 yard freestyle (10:31.07). Enos won the 100 yard freestyle (54.31) and also was a part of the 400 yard medley relay which captured a BC Dual meet best (3:58.25).
Freshmen Lauren Schwartz (Mt. Laurel, NJ) and Brianne Sullivan (Staten Island, NY) were also strong for the Eagles, capturing two victories each. Schwartz won the 200 yard butterfly (2:07.58) and the 100 yard butterfly (58.36). Sullivan won the 100 yard backstroke (59.64) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:08.18).
The Eagles finished the fall season with a record of 5-2. Their next meet will be January 15 against Cal-Poly Tech San Luis Obispo. Their next home meet will be against the University of Rhode Island on January 23
