Men's Swimming Falls to Hoyas

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Boston College mens swimming team just missed capturing its first BIG EAST win as the Eagles fell to Georgetown 135-106. The loss dropped Boston College back to .500 at 6-6, 0-2 in the BIG EAST.
Sophomore Paul Callahan (Churchville, PA) earned the teams Outstanding Performance for the second consecutive week for his effort in the 200-yard freestyle, in which he finished second (1:50.39). Boston College head coach Tom Groden named junior Greg Dwyer (Rochelle Park, NJ) the teams Outstanding Performer for his two wins, one in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:14.50) and the other in the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.12). Dwyer was the Eagles only dual winner.
Boston College captured victories in three of the meets 13 events. The Eagles other winner was sophomore Ken Barton (Meridian, CT) who won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.46).
The Eagles finish their regular season against Providence at home on February 13.
