Men's Swimming Defeats Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, MA -- The Boston College mens swimming team captured their first win of the season by handily defeating Bridgewater State 179-113. The Eagles won nine of the meets 16 events, with seven different Eagles capturing first place finishes. Head coach Tom Groden named junior Greg Dwyer (Rochelle Park, NJ) the team's outstanding perfromer for his two first place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke (58.12) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:17.21). Groden named sophmore Jonathon Hartigan (Nova Scotia, Canada) the swimmer with the Eagles top performance, as he captured first place in the 200 yard backstroke (2:11.03)
Boston College swept the two diving events, as sophomore Mike Witt (Columbia, CT) captured both first places finishes in the one-meter and three-meter board events.
The Eagles next meet is November 11 on the road against Farifield University. Meet time is 7:00 pm.
