Govaert and McCoy '17 Advance in USA Field Hockey ODP

Govaert earned U-21 JNC selection and McCoy picked up JNC Development selection out of YWNC.
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Boston College's Fusine Govaert and former Eagle Emily McCoy ('17) each progressed through the ranks of the USA Field Hockey Olympic Development Pipeline at the Young Women's National Championship, which concluded at the Spooky Nook Sports complex last week. A field of 107 athletes, comprising eight teams, were on hand seeking selection to the 2018-19 U-21 and Development Junior National Camps.
Govaert, a sophomore forward/midfielder at BC, was named to the 28-player U-21 JNC. She played in all 19 games for the Eagles in 2017 and came on to start the final 12; totaling 13 points on 12 goals and one assist.
McCoy, who gained selection to the Development JNC, played midfield for Boston College from 2013-16 and was a Second Team All-American as a junior in 2015. She finished her BC career ranked 11th in career points (84) and graduated tied for 10th place on the Eagles' career goals chart, tied with three other players including at 34 career goals.
The 2018 U-21 and Development Junior National Camp will take place from June 30 to July 3 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa.
