The forward joins the Eagles after two years at the University of Minnesota.
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The Boston College women's hockey team has added former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Lindsay Agnew to its roster, head coach Katie Crowley announced on Wednesday.
Â
Agnew, who will be the seventh newcomer to the 2018-19 roster, will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Â
"We're very excited to add Lindsay to our program," Crowley said. "We have always liked the way that Lindsay plays the game and we're really looking forward to seeing her make an immediate impact here at BC as both a player and a person."
Â
In 76 career games at Minnesota, Agnew tallied 21 points on eight goals and 13 assists and played in two NCAA Tournaments. During the 2017-18 season, Agnew skated in all 38 games that the Gophers played and had three multi-point outings en route to recording a career-high 13 points. She scored one game-winning goal while assisting on two others. Prior to her 2016-17 freshman season, Agnew was voted the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Preseason Co-Rookie of the Year.
Â
The forward is also a decorated youth player and captain for Canada. The Oakville, Ontario native was a two-time world silver medalist for the Under-18 Team, and also has played with Canada's National Development Team in the last year.
Â
With the addition of Agnew and the six freshmen that make up the Class of 2022, the Eagles will boast a 25-player roster heading into the 2018-19 season. In all, the team is set to return 18 letterwinners in 2018-19, including 16 from the 2017-18 team. Three players in Megan Keller, Kali Flanagan and Cayla Barnes return after helping the U.S. National Team win a gold medal at the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
