The Boston College women's lacrosse team will host No. 12 Princeton (13-5) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Newton Soccer & Lacrosse Complex in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Tickets will be available to purchase at the gate.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Boston College and Princeton.

NCAA UPDATE
- This is Boston College's sixth straight NCAA Tournament berth, seventh overall
- Last season, BC advanced to the final of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles lost to Maryland, 16-13, at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
- BC defeated four teams to get to the final - Canisius (21-9), Syracuse (21-10), USC (20-14) and Navy (16-15)
- Boston College enters the tournament at No. 3 in the RPI, behind No. 1 UNC and No. 2 Maryland
- The Eagles overall record in the NCAA Tournament is 6-6. The Eagles first NCAA victory took place on May 9, 2014 vs. Bryant (17-9) at home
- Prior to last year's run to the final, Boston College had bowed out of the NCAA Tournament in the first round twice (vs. Loyola, 19-12 - May 13, 2015 & vs. Stony Brook, 11-9 - May 13, 2016.
- Junior attack Sam Apuzzo, junior midfielder Dempsey Arsenault and junior defender Elizabeth Miller were named among the top 25 nominees for the 2018 Tewaaraton Award on Friday, April 27. On Thursday, Apuzzo was named to the top five of the prestigious award. The BC forward is only the second Eagle to crack the Top five in the Tewaaraton Award. Sarah Mannelly '16 earned Top five finalist honors in 2015.
- On Friday, seven players were honored by the IWLCA. Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault, Elizabeth Miller, Kaileen Hart, Hannah Hyatt and Lauren Daley were named to the All-Northeast Region first team. Carly Bell earned second team honors.
- The Eagles' 19 wins is the program's new single-season win total. In 2017, BC won 17 games.
- Sam Apuzzo set a new single game program record in draw controls against Louisville at the ACC Tournament. The junior attack had 17 draw controls, 12 in the first half. The previous record was held by Dempsey Arsenault who had 12 against Louisville on March17, 2018.
- The Eagles come into the game with 319 draw controls this season. The team is averaging 15.95 per game, which is seventh best in the country.Â
- The Boston College women's lacrosse program actually became a varsity sport in 1979. Â The Eagles posted a 5-3 record that season.
- In 1980 the team went 9-3 and competed in the Division 2 National Tournament, which was called the United States Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Tournament.
- In 1980, Tamie Thompson '80 was a major contributor to the lacrosse program which was the first BC women's team to qualify for a national championship tournament. The team captain, Thompson earned BC's prestigious "Eagle of the Year" award that year.
- Women's lacrosse has four Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame members - Siobhan Campbell '79, Marybeth Ripp Hollinger 83, Tamie Thompson '80 and Katie Connelly Conroy '90. All four were two-sport athletes as Campbell was on the swim team, while Hollinger, Thompson and Conroy were also played soccer.
