Brighton Athletics Village to be Dedicated on April 14

The event will include FanFest, ceremonial first pitches and more
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College will formally open and dedicate the Brighton Athletics Village on Saturday, April 14. The fields are home to the BC baseball and softball programs and represent the continued commitment to competitive excellence for these programs. The complex will also include new intramural fields. The day will be a celebration of the new facilities and those who helped to make this project a reality.

The softball team will host Florida State at 2:30 p.m. and baseball will take on Wake Forest at 3 p.m.

April 14 also marks baseball's and softball's Alumni Day. All former players are invited to attend pregame events and celebrations. Â

Festivities will include a FanFest, complete with inflatables and face painting, starting at 1 p.m., a dedication ceremony to officially name the Brighton Athletics Village at 2 p.m. and first pitch ceremonies before the start of each game. Concessions will be available before and during the games as well.

BC hosts the annual Jay McGillis Spring Football Game at 11:30 a.m. the same day. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., shuttles will run from BC's main campus to the Brighton campus. The shuttle stops include Gate E of Alumni Stadium and outside the Comm. Ave garage. The shuttle will run continuously throughout the softball and baseball games.

The baseball team hosts Pittsburgh in a three-game ACC series in Brighton beginning on Friday, April 6 at 4 p.m. while the softball team is in Raleigh, N.C., to take on NC State.
