Denver Broncos draft second BC DB in three years
DALLAS, TEXAS – Boston College cornerback Isaac Yiadom was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 99th overall pick in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft Friday evening. Yiadom becomes the second Boston College defensive back drafted by the Broncos in the last three seasons as he joins former BC teammate Justin Simmons in Denver.
Yiadom was one of two Eagles drafted Friday as Harold Landry was selected earlier in the night in the second round by the Tennessee Titans.
"Isaac has really blossomed during his career at BC and will be a great pro with the Broncos," said Boston College head coach Steve Addazio. "As a defensive back, he brings great size and athleticism to the position and was a player we could always count on."
Â
Yiadom is the 13th player drafted during the Addazio era at Boston College. The Worcester, Mass., native is the 212th player in Boston College history to be selected in the NFL or AFL Draft.
Â
Boston College has now had multiple players selected in five consecutive NFL Drafts.
Â
Yiadom started all 13 games as a senior and finished the season with 53 tackles. He was second on the team with seven pass breakups and part of a pass defense that tied for 12th nationally with 18 interceptions.
Â
The BC graduate was given the Jay McGillis Award in the spring of 2017, given to the defensive back that best exemplifies the personal qualities of team dedication and leadership by example, an extraordinary competitive spirit and a personal concern for family, friends and teammates.
