The BC-MIT Cup Returns to The Heights

The Eagles win three of four races on the Charles
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College rowing completed their first home race of the 2018 spring season, winning three out of four events on Saturday morning against Boston University Lightweights and MIT on the Charles River.

The Eagles varsity eight finished with a time of 7:17.8, behind the BU Lightweight (7:10.7) and ahead of MIT, who finished with a time of 7:28.7. The BC and MIT varsity eights race annually for the BC-MIT Cup. After losing the Cup in 2017, the Eagles bring the cup back to The Heights.

BC won the second varsity eight event with a time of 7:24.8. BU Lightweights came in second, BC's third varsity eight boat placed third, and MIT was fourth.

BC won the varsity four matchup against MIT in a time of 8:13.4 and won the second varsity four against BU Lightweights in 8:18.8.

BC will face the BU Openweight team on the Charles on Saturday, April 7, followed by races against Holy Cross and Connecticut on Sunday in Worcester.
