Seven Eagles Named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad

Senior Justin Sheehan is a four-year honoree
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Seven members of the Boston College field hockey team were named to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad.
Seniors Brooke Matherson and Justine Sheehan, redshirt junior Alyssa Olenick, juniors Frederique Haverhals, Carly Kauffman and Lucy Lytle and sophomore Brigid Wood earned the honor. Sheehan has been named to the academic squad all four years of her career.
The honor recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
The Eagles were also named a 2017 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team for a team GPA over 3.00.
Over 960 student-athletes representing 76 schools collected the accolades this season. All seven ACC schools were represented. For the complete list, click here (PDF).
