Jerome Robinson poured in a career-high 46 points but it was not enough as Boston College fell, 96-85, at Notre Dame on Tuesday night.
Both teams started the game hot offensively, combining to make 9-of-12 from the floor to start the game. Tied at 14-14 seven minutes into the game, Notre Dame connected on 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions, kickstarting an 11-0 run to take a 25-14 lead with 11:21 left in the half. The Eagles would cut it to three - 39-36 - with 1:31 left, but the Irish would use an 8-2 to close the period out and led 47-38 at the break.
In the second half, Notre Dame built its lead to 18 with 14:33 to play, at 60-42. Robinson would score 17 of the Eagles' next 19 points, including a 3-pointer with 7:38 to play that cut it to four - at 70-66. On the next possession, Jordan Chatman got BC within two, converting two free throws that made it 70-68 with 6:49 left.
Notre Dame scored the next five points en route to 26-16 run to close the game.
