Eagles fall to Syracuse, 69-63, in final regular season game
SYRACUSE, New York – Despite a career-day from sophomore Taylor Ortlepp who finished with 28 points along with seven three-pointers, Boston College fell to ACC foe, Syracuse, 69-63, on Sunday night at the Carrier Dome.
 BC opened the game cold as the Eagles were down 19-11 after the first quarter. The second quarter Boston College stormed back and scored 19 points while holding Syracuse to 13 points. BC was down by just two, 32-30, at the half after shooting 47 percent in the second quarter.
 The second half Boston College kept pace with the Orange behind six second half three-pointer from Ortlepp. She tied the game in the third quarter on a three, 42-42 and again at the end of the quarter at 45-45.
 In the fourth quarter, Ortlepp hit a three and was fouled to complete a four-point play with seven minutes left and BC's lead was 52-49. Syracuse ran off seven straight points before Ortlepp struck again with a three to cut the lead to three points. BC cut it to one point with 2:53 to play on a jumper by Pineau but seven points in the final minute by Syracuse's Tianna Mangakahia sealed the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The second quarter, Katie Quandt opened the scoring on a great pass from Andie Anastos to cut into the lead, 19-13. Syracuse came back with five straight points and BC was down, 22-13.
- The Eagles took the lead with 2:09 to play as Bolden-Morris hit two straight three-pointers in a 14-5 run, BC 30, SU 29. BC had missed two shots that would have extended the lead but the Orange took the lead on a three-pointer by Tiana Mangakahia with 36 seconds to play in the half.
-Â Â At the half, Syracuse led 32-30, behind eight points from Mangakahia while Bolden-Morris had nine for BC. Pineau had eight points and five boards at the half.
-Â BC shot 47 percent in the second quarter and cut the turnovers to just one. The Eagles did score nine points off nine Orange turnovers in the half.
- The Eagles started slow in the third quarter as they did not score until 6:39 when Pineau hit two free throws. BC finished the quarter on an 11-3 run sparked by three three-pointers from Ortlepp to keep the game tied at 45-45 going into the final quarter.
- The fourth quarter came down to the final two minutes as two three-pointer from Ortlepp kept BC within striking distance. A jumper by Pineau with 2:53 to play cut the Orange lead, 58-57. Syracuse's Gaby Cooper hit her fourth three-pointer to extend the lead, 61-57, and forced BC to call a timeout.
- Mangakahia hit a running one-handed layup to push the lead, 63-57, with 28 seconds to play. She would hit two free throws with 20 seconds to play – Syracuse 65, BC 58.
