HOW IT HAPPENED
- 1st, 5:28 | BC GOAL, 1-0 – As UNH tried to break out of their zone, Caitrin Lonergan backchecked and broke up the play just over the blue line and turned the play around to re-enter the Wildcats' end. She skated deep along the boards before cutting inside along the goal line, flipping a backhanded pass across the crease to Kenzie Kent on the doorstep. She knocked it in past UNH goaltender Ava Boutilier for the 1-0 lead.
- 1st, 14:05 | UNH GOAL, 1-1 (PPG) – With the Wildcats on their first power play of the day, UNH worked it around the outside before Devan Taylor sent a diagonal cross-ice pass back to the near point for Julia Fedeski. Fedeski then dropped a pass down to Nicole Dunbar at the faceoff dot, and she ripped a rising shot that deflected off a BC defender and through the space between Katie Burt's glove and the post to tie the score at 1-1.
- 2nd, 4:48 | BC GOAL, 2-1 (PPG) – With BC re-starting its entry on the power-play, Kent collected the puck in the Eagles' end along the far boards and sent a long pass up ahead to Watts just outside the UNH blue line. She gained the zone as Lonergan coasted in behind the defense, creating a 2-on-1. Watts flicked a pass under the Wildcats' defenseman's stick to Lonergan, who had an open net for the go-ahead power-play goal.
- 2nd, 10:05 | BC GOAL, 3-1 (SHG) – After a faceoff in the UNH end on a New Hampshire power play, Lonergan stripped a Wildcats player at the blue line and started a 2-on-1 with Kent. The two traded passes through the neutral zone before Lonergan entered the UNH end with the puck, pulling the defenseman to her. Kent came in behind the play, getting around a pair of Wildcats at the hashmarks and potting her first shorthanded goal of the season.
- 2nd, 12:42 | BC GOAL, 4-1 – Makenna Newkirk intercepted a UNH centering pass at the edge of the crease in front of Burt's goal, and pushed the puck ahead to Maegan Beres at the top of the circle. Beres looked up and saw Watts charging ahead at the red line, and sent a diagonal pass to her in stride. She gained the zone with no pressure from the defense and ripped a rising shot from just inside the faceoff circle, beating Boutilier back across her body, over her glove shoulder.
- 3rd, 16:07 | BC GOAL, 5-1 – Lonergan broke up a UNH attack in the Eagles' end and took the play the other way. She twice pushed the puck past defenders, beating them to the puck in the neutral zone to create a one-on-one with Boutilier from the UNH blue line. She stickhandled into the low slot before pushing the puck under the goaltender as she moved to her left.
