Women's Fencing Ties For First in Northeast Duals

Lawlor, Morgan goes 14-1 in duals
Women's Results
Women's fencing swept the field on Sunday to finish tied for first in the Northeast Fencing Conference with a season record of 11-1. This is the third consecutive season BC has finished at the top of the NFC standings.
BC 17 – Brandeis 10
BC 21 – Vassar 6
BC 19 – Dartmouth 8
BC 21 – Tufts 6
BC 18 – MIT 9
BC 21 – University of Florida 6 (non-conference)
The sabre squad combined for a record of 46-8. (Gillian Lawlor 14-1, Laura Donovan 11-1, Crystal Chen 13-2, Gaby Chau 5-1 and Sophie He 3-3.) Donovan was undefeated in critical match-ups against Brandeis, Vassar, and MIT.
In epee, Ella Morgan was 14-1, and in foil, Brooke Solsky was 15-2.
"This was an outstanding day. All three squads contributed strong performances to outpace our NFC rivals by comfortable margins."
Men's Results
The men's team had a tougher go of it, dropping close matches to Brandies and MIT, while winning a nail-biter, 14-13, against Vassar. The Eagles finished with a record of 8-2 to tie for second place in the Northeast Fencing Conference.

Connor Rounds, men's sabre, posted the best record of the day, going 17-1. His squad-mate Ben Slavin, was 15-3.
Men's foil also contributed strong results with Justin Herman going 16-2, Cam Mayer 14-4, and Ari Lichy 12-6.
BC is tied for first in the combined NFC men's and women's standings. Twelve BC Fencers are in the running for All-Conference honors: Mateo Rueda and Thom Ferrante in men's epee, Justin Herman, Cam Mayer and Ari Lichy in men's foil, Connor Rounds and Ben Slavin in men's sabre, Ella Morgan and Ceara Sweeney in women's epee, Brooke Solsky in women's foil and Laura Donovan and Gillian Lawlor in women's sabre.
