Four of five starters produce double figure scoring efforts
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – On Sunday afternoon, the Boston College women's basketball team fell to Syracuse, 75-57, in an ACC match up at Chestnut Hill on Alumni Day.

The Eagles (6-15, 1-7 ACC) came out the gate hot, connecting on 50 percent of shots from the floor for their best frame of shooting during the game. BC was only down by three heading into the second quarter.

Syracuse (17-5, 5-4 ACC) found its spark, notching 21 points in the second quarter to the Eagles' 10, increasing the Orange lead to 14 by the end of the half.

Maroon and gold attempted to mount a second-half comeback, scoring 31 points – including the team's four threes – but Syracuse's 23 points in the third quarter alone boosted them to a victory.

BC connected 63 percent from the floor in the fourth-quarter mad dash and 44 percent overall. Syracuse hit 43 percent from the floor throughout the game, but connected every shot from the free throw line.

- With her 15 points, junior Emma Guy has racked up over 300 career points in her two seasons donning Maroon and Gold.
- Four of the starters reached double figures in scoring: Georgia Pineau (17), Taylor Ortlepp (11), Emma Guy (15) and Milan Bolden-Morris (10).
- In addition to her 17 points, Georgia Pineau was one board away from capturing her fourth double-double of the season. She connected on 87.5 percent of shots from the floor and connected three out of four shots from the charity stripe.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After beginning with two early scoring droughts, the Eagles came back with an 8-0 run in the last two and a half minutes to come within three, 19-16, to end the first quarter. Emma Guy tallied seven first-quarter points, while Georgia Pineau had the same and went perfect from the floor.
- BC was held to ten points in second quarter after shooting 33 percent from the floor while Syracuse had an explosive offense, scoring 21 points.
- With a buzzer-beating trey from Milan Bolden-Morris, the Eagles made a 15-point effort in the third quarter. Bolden-Morris and Taylor Ortlepp added five points apiece. Syracuse had a 23-point quarter and took a 63-41 lead going into the final frame of play.
- Around the two minutes into final quarter, BC found a 9-0 run over five minutes, resulting in the Eagles outscoring the Orange 16-12. The effort was not enough and Syracuse came out on top, 75-57.
