Eagles are back in action starting February 10
CHESNUT HILL, Mass. – After a stellar 2017 season ending at the NCAA Championship, head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein announced the 2018 Boston College lacrosse schedule.
The Eagles will open on the road and play three of their first four games away from home to start the season. On top of a tough ACC schedule, seven of their 17 opponents finished 2017 ranked 25th or better in the NCAA RPI rankings, including the second top team in the country.
The season will kick off with the Eagles hitting the ACC circuit right away, traveling to Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 10Â before returning home to Newton to host Holy Cross Tuesday, Feb 13.
On Saturday, Feb. 17, Boston College travels up Comm Ave. to challenge local rival Boston University before returning to Chestnut Hill to host University of Massachusetts for its second in-state opponent of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Boston College will continue its season, with a three-game slate of non-conference, home games, including Brown University, the Navy – who the Eagles beat in the National Semifinal – and Binghamton University.
The Eagles will take a trip, then, to California, to take on another NCAA National Championship competitor from last season, University of Southern California, on Tuesday, March 6, before wrapping up the trip at San Diego State University on Saturday, March 10.
Â
BC will continue the road trip with another ACC competitor, Louisville, on Saturday March 17 and will cap off the road trip at Yale on Tuesday, March 20.
Â
On Saturday, March 24, the Eagles will host North Carolina after two weeks away, then will travel to Virginia and Duke.
Boston College will wrap up the regular season playing four teams at home including its last non-conference opponent, Dartmouth, Virginia Tech and Syracuse.
The Eagles return 21 players from last year's NCAA Tournament roster, and welcome seven newcomers.
