Midfielder tallies game-winning goal against No. 18 Wake Forest, while defensive back had a career-high 13 tackles at No. 2 Clemson
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College junior defensive back Lukas Denis (football) and sophomore forward Olivia Vaughn (women's soccer) have been named Nissan Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Denis had a career day as the Eagles traveled to No. 2 Clemson on Saturday. The Everett, Massachusetts, product collected a career-high – and game-high – 13 tackles, forced a fumble and recorded his third interception of the season as BC held the Tigers to just seven points through three quarters.
Vaughn pushed BC's ACC record to 2-1-0 on Sunday when she scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory. It was her first game-winning goal of the season. BC out-shot the Demon Deacons 9-4 in the scoreless first half, but Vaughn broke the deadlock in the 74th minute.
Football returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 30, when the team hosts Central Michigan at 1 p.m. in a game that will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra. Women's soccer next travels to face Virginia Tech on Friday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.
