Â
BIG NEWS on The Heights
New this year at Boston College, both men's and women's hockey programs will have all regular season games from Kelley Rink streamed on WatchESPN, ESPN's online home.
Â
Links to each stream will be provided on BCEagles.com and the BC men's hockey social media channels, specifically Twitter (@BCHockey).
Â
Hockey East
There will be a bit of a different look in conference play this year as Hockey East has shifted to a 24-game schedule with the departure of Notre Dame to the Big Ten Conference.
Â
Each team in the league will play four teams on three occasions and combat the other six squads twice. This season, the Eagles drew Providence (two away – one home), UMass Lowell (two home – one away), Connecticut (two home – one away) and Maine (two home – one away) as the four teams they will play thrice.
Â
Like last season, all 11 HEA teams make the post season and the top five teams will get a bye in the first round.
Â
Non-Conference
The Eagles will host four non-conference home games against Quinnipiac (home opener), Wisconsin, defending national champion Denver and Frozen Four participant Harvard (Friday after Thanksgiving).
Â
The six other non-Hockey East battles will come in the form of a weekend series at Saint Cloud State, the inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the 66th annual Beanpot.
Â
BC will meet up with 2017 NCAA Tournament participant Michigan Tech in the first round of the Ice Vegas Invitational on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 and take on either Arizona State or Northern Michigan the following day.
Â
Boston College draws Northeastern in the first round of the 66th annual Beanpot Tournament and will play the early contest on Monday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.
