Gaudreau Takes Home Lady Byng Award

Johnny Gaudreau becomes second Eagle in BC history to claim this prestigious NHL honor
LAS VEGAS - Former Eagle and Hobey Baker Award winner Johnny Gaudreau added to his laundry list of accomplishments on June 21, 2017 as the Calgary Flames' winger won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy at the 2017 NHL Awards and NHL Expansion Draft in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Gaudreau is the second Boston College Eagle to collect this prestigious NHL award. Joe Mullen won the award twice in 1986-86 and 1988-89.
The Lady Byng is presented to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. The Carneys Point, N.J., native beat out Minnesota Wild forward Mikael Granlund and St. Louis Blues' forward Vladimir Tarasenko.
In his third full year with the Flames, Gaudreau led Calgary with 61 points, including 18 goals and a team-high 43 assists, this season.
Gaudreau is a three-time NHL All-Star and was a member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2014-15.
In his time on The Heights, Gaudreau became a top-10 scorer all-time in just three seasons. The speedy left winger is Boston College's 10th-most prolific scorer with 78 goals and 97 assists for 175 points in 119 games played.
