Apuzzo, Men’s 4x400m Relay Team Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Sam Apuzzo (lacrosse) and the 4x400m relay team of senior Nicholas Nash, senior Darren James, sophomore Oliver Boucher, and senior Obinna Nwankwo have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Apuzzo led the lacrosse team to a pair of victories over Canisius and Syracuse in the NCAA Tournament, totaling eight goals, six assists and 14 points. She posted three goals and four assists in the 21-9 win over Canisius while also securing six draw controls. She then had five goals and two assists in the 21-10 triumph against the Orange. Her 14 points leads all players in the NCAA Tournament.
At the 2017 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the 4x400m relay team of Nash, James, Boucher and Nwankwo set a new Boston College record of 3:11.00. They topped the 50-year old record of 3:11.9 set back in 1967.
Lacrosse (15-6) will host USC on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
