- On her third goal of the first half, Sam Apuzzo tallied her 92nd point of the season, breaking the program record (91) previously set by Laura Costello in 2010. She finished with four goals on the day.
- Kenzie Kent recorded a team-high five points in the game, scoring two goals and assisting on a team-high three.
- Dempsey Arsenault tied her career high in goals, tallying two in the first half.
TURNING POINT
- Early in the first half, UNC scored seven unanswered goals to take a six-goal lead. BC would eventually cut the lead to as few as two goals, but could not retake the lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kenzie Kent gave the Eagles the first lead of the game, scoring at the 28:04 mark.
- UNC went on a 7-0 run over the next eight minutes, giving the Tar Heels a 7-1 lead.
- BC scored the next two goals to cut the advantage to three, but UNC countered with three goals of its own to lead, 10-3.
- The Eagles built momentum in the final minutes of the half, scoring three of the last four goals but trailed 12-7 at the break.
- After the Eagles scored the first goal in the second frame, UNC scored three more goals to take a 15-8 lead at 16:27.
- With 14:35 remaining, Kate Weeks kicked off a 3-0 run to cut North Carolina's edge to four with 10:05 left to play.
- Down 16-11, BC scored the next three goals to make it a 16-14 game with 3:57 remaining.
- UNC kept BC off the board for the rest of the game to secure the win.
