Weeks, O’Connor and Ochoa join three alumnae in UWLX second season.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse seniors Kate Weeks, Kayla O'Connor and Zoe Ochoa were selected in the 2017 United Women's Lacrosse League Draft on Monday.
Drafted by the Boston Storm, Weeks and O'Connor have excelled this season for the Eagles on offense. After a breakout year as a junior, Weeks leads the Eagles in goals for the second-straight season. Her 53 goals rank fifth nationally and second in the ACC. She also holds the program record for most goals scored in a game (8), when she did it at No. 15 UMass (Feb. 8). Weeks also became the 22nd player in program history to record 100 career points.
O'Connor has put together her best season at Boston College, surpassing all of her previous career highs. This year, she is the team's third-highest scorer, netting 34 goals and assisting on 13. From Feb. 25 to March 18, O'Connor recorded a hat trick in five-straight games, including a career-high five goals against No. 15 Louisville.
Selected by the Philly Force, Ochoa has been the backbone of the Eagles' defense for the past three seasons. Ochoa has been the starting goalkeeper in each of her last 58 games. She is fifth on the Eagles' all-time saves list, with 324.
The three players will join alumnae Sarah Mannelly (Baltimore), Mikaela Rix (Long Island) and Kristin Igoe (Boston) as the only Eagles drafted in the UWLX.
Boston College will finish its regular season this Saturday at 12 p.m. as the Eagles host Notre Dame. BC will honor its six seniors prior to the start of the game.
